A TRAVEL TALE
A TRAVEL TALE
I come from a family where travelling is an essential.
If I go back in the past and tales that I've grown hearing,
my elders used to tell me that they were brahmins who used to go for
travelling for days in search of food and shelter.
They used to sing in their joyous voices travelling everywhere.
This is a really old tale, but some genes really sticks through.
When I became aware about what travelling was,
I already had traveled half of the country.
My parents are fond of travelling and they traveled everywhere,
I started my first steps in Chandigardh
and I have spent few months of my childhood in Chennai.
Since childhood I have been travelling in the hills every year
Be it Himachal, Uttrakhand or any northern hills
and there have been no year with god's grace that I have'nt done less than 5 trips a year.
It's not about what my parent's have given me
It's about what their parent's have given them.
My grandparents have traveled the entire country!
They used to go on excursions and spend time
watching art, feeling the culture and added each different
aesthetic from different states in themselves.
My nanu tells me that travelling is an important
part of your life and it is very important to expose yourself.
Travel is about getting near the reality and knowing the world.
There are few stories that inspire me the most,
my cousin mama who lives in Punjab is the one who is
extremely fond of travelling.
I've heard really less stories from him
but word of mouth which you call "kisse" are quite a thing in my family.
He is the one crazy abut travelling,it's his passion.
He traveled to and explored so many places giving his future generation a path to follow.
Followed that my mama have been travelling to Manali since a teenager every year.
He is full of life and passionate to travel, he seeks no time
and is off to another destination anytime and anyday.
Next on the lane is my mother who've spend her best time in Shimla
with her sister for quite a few years and have some amazing 'kisse' and 'kahaniya'
of different places she've traveled to.
The one important person who I seek to while travelling
or for taking any travel advice is my brother.
It seems that all the enthusiasm from my family have been transferred to him,
He was the one who inspired me to do something in tourism.
It was him who introduced me to this course that I've been currently doing;
tourism management, though I did not utilize this as much as I could've,
but it really did open my love for travel.
I experienced the best time of my life on hills with my brother,
we both were working in the hills and can never really forget
the night we sat lakeside talking about how much he loves traveling
and how much he enjoys it.
He inspired me to go on the field and actually taste how it fells to be a solo traveler.
I've been out travelling mostly as a tourist to different places or countries.
But I must tell you the experience that I've had travelling solo or backpacking
can never match the tourist feelings.
You live in those moments alone,
it feels like you've earned it.
I am traveler who have all the knowledge of travelling and
probably will be the best guide you have but
I lack on field and it's the worst thing a traveler have, experience.
I think there is still a lot of time in life and
everybody follows their dreams with their own pace.
Some take knowledge after going to a place whereas,
Probably i'll just live in that moment when i'll go there.
I can't wait to start my new experiences in life,
where I just have my notebook, pen and a camera
and I sit in my camp or at the stone near the beach
and write my all heart out.
I SEEK FOR TRAVEL, I SEEK TO LET IT ALL OUT.
